The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing independent accountancy practice with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality advice to owner-managed businesses across the North West.

The firm is looking to appoint a Senior Accountant to manage a portfolio of clients, providing a proactive and professional service while working closely with senior leadership. This role is ideal for an experienced practice accountant looking for greater ownership, client interaction and long-term career progression within a collaborative team.

The RoleAs a Senior Accountant, you’ll take responsibility for your own client portfolio, building trusted relationships while ensuring a consistently high level of service.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of owner-managed business clients from start to finish
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
  • Preparing corporation tax returns
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for clients
  • Leading client meetings and providing proactive accounting advice
  • Preparing accounts in accordance with FRS 102 and FRS 105
  • Managing deadlines and ensuring timely delivery of work
  • Working closely with Managers and Directors on more complex assignments
  • Identifying opportunities to add value through advisory services
  • Supporting junior members of the team where required

The Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
  • Strong experience within UK accountancy practice
  • Previous experience managing a portfolio of clients independently
  • Excellent knowledge of FRS 102 and FRS 105
  • Experience preparing corporation tax returns
  • Strong client-facing and relationship management skills
  • Experience leading client meetings
  • Personal tax experience would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
