A successful and growing manufacturing business with a turnover of approximately £8.5m is looking to appoint a Finance Manager to take ownership of its finance function.

Reporting directly to the owners and board of directors, this is a key position within the business, offering the opportunity to influence decision-making and contribute to the company’s continued growth and profitability.

Managing an Accounts Assistant, you’ll oversee the day-to-day finance operation whilst providing accurate financial reporting, commercial insight and strategic support to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Full responsibility for the finance function
  • Production of monthly management accounts
  • Leading month-end and year-end processes
  • Presenting monthly financial results and profitability analysis to the owners and board
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Cashflow management and reporting
  • VAT returns and compliance
  • Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control
  • Managing customer and supplier invoicing through Oracle NetSuite
  • Creating and monitoring departmental cost centres
  • Driving process improvements and strengthening financial controls
  • Managing company insurance policies and renewals
  • Supporting daily banking activities and reconciliations
  • Managing and developing an Accounts Assistant

About You

  • Previous experience in a Finance Manager or Management Accountant role
  • Experience producing monthly management accounts
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management skills
  • Experience presenting financial information to senior stakeholders
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • A proactive and commercially-minded approach
  • Experience using Oracle NetSuite would be advantageous
  • AAT Qualified, CIMA/ACCA studier or Qualified by Experience (QBE)
